Water technology for hard water — and for properties off the sewer
Two answers to the same bedrock: a scale-resistant electric heating element that holds up beyond 12 °dH, and ecological waste water systems for plots away from the public sewer.
Inlet, heating, outflow — three points, one cycle
In karst regions water is an issue twice over: when it is heated, because the scale precipitates, and when it drains, because many plots are not connected to a public sewer at all.
We supply both ends: a heating element whose construction treats scale build-up as the normal condition rather than an accident — and treatment solutions that clean on site instead of merely collecting.
- Scale-resistant heating elementDesigned for water hardness well above 12 °dH. The target is a service life matching the tank, not an annual wear part.
- Water analysis before sizingHardness, conductivity and iron content taken from the actual tap, not from regional averages.
- Retrofit in existing systemsReplacement in existing tanks and buffer stores, optionally tied into the PV controls from pillar 1.
- Ecological treatment systemsBiological package plants and constructed wetlands for houses, holiday properties and small businesses without a sewer connection.
- Greywater and irrigationSeparation and reuse of greywater, matched to irrigation and storage cisterns.
- Municipal projectsConcepts for hamlets, campsites and municipal buildings, including permitting documents.
Four steps to a burnt-out element
Scaling is not a material defect but a chain reaction. Understanding it explains why a standard element gives up sooner in Dalmatia than the datasheet suggests.
| Step | What happens inside the tank | Consequence |
|---|---|---|
| 1 · Hard water | Water from karst groundwater carries dissolved calcium and magnesium, frequently above 12 °dH. | A high scale load already at the inlet. |
| 2 · Heating | At the hottest point — the surface of the element — calcium carbonate precipitates. | A scale layer directly on the heating conductor. |
| 3 · Heat build-up | The scale layer insulates. The element can no longer pass its heat to the water and overheats. | Efficiency drops, power consumption rises. |
| 4 · Failure | Overheating destroys the conductor or the sheath cracks. | A burnt-out element, often within a few years. |
